Michelle is an accomplished attorney and has been a small business owner in Gainesville, Georgia for over ten years. Michelle began her legal career in the Hall County Solicitor’s Office, working for Jerry Rylee. While Michelle prosecuted all types of misdemeanor cases in the jurisdiction of the Solicitor’s Office, she specialized in the prosecution of Driving Under the Influence and Domestic Violence charges. Michelle ended her tenure in the Hall County Solicitor’s Office as the Chief Trial Assistant Solicitor, working for Larry A. Baldwin, II, who now sits as a Judge in the State Court of Hall County.
After leaving the Solicitor’s Office, Michelle was an associate with Tolbert, Bradford, & Associates in Gainesville, Georgia prior to opening her own law practice, The Law Office of Michelle Hall. Michelle has built a thriving small business through this private practice. During this time, Michelle has represented many criminal defendants charged with felonies and misdemeanors; many plaintiffs and defendants in divorce, child support, and child custody cases; many parents who have had their children removed in Juvenile Court; and many children who have been removed from their parents’ custody. Michelle has also acted as a Guardian Ad Litem in many custody and delinquency cases, a role that has required her to fully investigate the circumstances of the children involved in order to make a recommendation to the Court regarding the best interest of those children.
Finally, Michelle has sat as a Municipal Court Judge since April, 2010. In that position, Michelle has presided over thousands of traffic offenses, including Driving Under the Influence charges, city ordinance violations, shoplifting charges, and possession of marijuana charges. This position has given Michelle the opportunity to handle plea hearings, probation revocation hearings, and bench trials, while perfecting the skills necessary in order to effectively manage a courtroom, while listening to the evidence, determining the credibility of the witnesses before her, and making just decisions rooted in law and fairness. This position has also afforded her the opportunity to teach various classes to Municipal Court Judges throughout the State of Georgia for the last three years, as well as participate in a committee to determine the educational offerings for Municipal Court Judge training.
Michelle has been a resident of Hall County, Georgia since 2001. She is an active member of her community. Michelle is a past Board member for the Hall County YMCA, she has been an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville since 2008, a Meals on Wheels volunteer since 2013, and she supports many child-related charities in the Hall County area. Michelle lives with her husband, Gary Hall, and their son, Hunter. Michelle and Gary have enjoyed spending their time being the coach and assistant coach for their son’s elementary-school basketball and soccer teams for several years.
