Kim Amontree has lived in Punta Gorda for almost 25 years and has a long history of community involvement. Rarely has a year gone by, that Kim has not spent her time volunteering for non-profits in Punta Gorda. She has served as Treasurer for four organizations, including the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (CARE), Church of the Good Shepherd, Charlotte Academy and Charlotte Local Education Foundation. She is presently serving as co-chair of the School Advisory Council (SAC) at Port Charlotte High School. She is President of Charlotte Local Education Foundation.
Kim has been personally involved with Charlotte County Public Schools. Her oldest son Andrew graduated from Port Charlotte High School in 2012. Her 17 year old, Matthew will graduate from Port Charlotte High School in May 2016 and her 13 year old daughter, Ashley will begin at Charlotte High School in August 2016. In addition, Kim has served as a mentor in the Take Stock in Children program. She also initiated a Reading Mentor program at Port Charlotte High School.
Kim graduated with a B.S. Business Degree from University of Colorado and a M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the University of South Florida. She is a co-owner of two businesses in Charlotte County, Center for Digestive and Liver Disorders and Charlotte Surgery Center. She was instrumental in the founding and management of both businesses.
She has been married to her husband Jim who is a physician for 24 years. She is a certified Spin Instructor who teaches at the YMCA. In her free time, Kim loves traveling, cycling and spending time with her family.
