Martha Fluor has served on the Board of Trustees for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District since 1991. During her tenure on the NMUSD Board of Education, she has served in all leadership roles – Clerk, Vice-President, President, six times. She serves as a liaison to various district committees, including the Visual and Performing Arts Commission, Wellness and Nutrition, School Attendance Review Board, District English Language Advisory Committee (Delac), Policy Review Committee, Newport Beach City Liaison Committee and the Labor Management Initiative task force.
Mrs. Fluor is the NMUSD Board representative on the Coastline Regional Occupation Program Board of Trustees. She is a passionate supporter of college and career pathways for students. She has engaged legislators, the business community, and parents in the conversation about the importance of assuring that all students are ready for college and career
