The quality of life provided by Solana Beach is envied throughout the region. Our beach town offers an oasis within an urbanizing region. My priority is to continue to protect and improve these irreplaceable community assets.
I moved to Solana Beach 45 years ago with my husband and 2 boys. I was a member of the original Solana Beach Town Council that worked for incorporation of our City to keep land use decisions in the hands of residents. I volunteered for community groups, like the Civic and Historical Society and Solana Beach's Climate Action Commission to protect what we love about our City.
I understand the complexities involved in achieving an economically sustainable community while protecting community character, as well as providing sound infrastructure and public safety.
With a Ph.D. in Education, I had a 12 year career teaching, and 15 years managing statewide multi-agency education programs. As California Director of "school to work" programs my responsibilities included comprehensive management and budgets. I was state Project Director for the "California School to Work Interagency Transition Partnership" which integrated 9 state programs [ transitioning special education students to work. ] The governor appointed me (officer) to "California Advisory Commission on Special Education."
I will listen to all residents in all neighborhoods to assure fairness.
