I majored in Political Science and Philosophy at San Diego State University (1991). I earned dual masters degrees in Latin American Studies (History, Politics, and Economics) from SDSU in 1997; and Master of Business Administration from Cal State, San Marcos in 2002. I’m also a proud graduate of Chicano Federation’s Leadership Training Institute (LTI). While in grad school, Teresa Ledesma, Diego Arancibia, and I managed YMCA PRYDE Program. PRYDE was an after-school program where we mentored and counseled youths from Barrio Logan and Sherman Heights for three-years. I parlayed youth mentoring and diversion to become a educator for Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD); first at Feaster-Edison (now Feaster Academy) for two-years and then Lauderbach Elementary for long-term substitute positions for almost three-years. I taught first, third, fifth, and sixth grades bilingual. I was a proud member of the California Teachers Association (CTA). Upon graduating business school, I opened real estate office on Olympic Boulevard in Eastlake. I hired and mentored between 8-10 agents and processors. Today, I continue my real estate profession.
